Frequently asked questions

Is the Cusco Tourist Ticket included?

No. You'll need it for Chinchero, Moray, Pisac and Ollantaytambo. The Circuit III partial ticket costs S/70 and covers all four; the full ticket costs S/130 and is valid for ten days. You buy it in cash and in soles at the first gate. The Maras Salt Mines entrance is included in your tour.

How is this different from the classic Sacred Valley tour?

It is a longer day, about 12 hours instead of 10, and adds stops the classic route leaves out for lack of time. Lunch is a buffet in the valley rather than a set menu. If this is your only day in the Sacred Valley, this version lets you see it unhurried; if your time in Cusco is short, the classic does the job.

Why do the Sacred Valley before Cusco city?

Altitude. The valley sits some six hundred metres below Cusco, so spending your first full day there helps you acclimatise better than staying in the city. Many travellers find this out too late and lose their first day in Cusco to a headache.
