Essentials at a glance
The experience
Spend the afternoon in Lima’s Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with a local guide: from Plaza San Martín and Jirón de la Unión to La Merced, the Plaza Mayor and the catacombs beneath the San Francisco Monastery. Before dusk, a break for coffee and something sweet or savory; then the Magic Water Circuit, where thirteen fountains light up to music.
Tip: ideal if you have just one day in Lima.
Step by step
We collect you in Miraflores, San Isidro or Barranco and head for the Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
White marble and a 1920s air: the Gran Hotel Bolívar, the twin buildings and the Teatro Colón around the statue of the liberator.
We walk what was once Lima’s most elegant street, where the city came to stroll and shop. Today it is pedestrian and still full of life.
One of the finest baroque façades in the center, carved in stone. If it is open to the public, we step inside.
The heart of the city since 1535: the Government Palace, the Cathedral, the Archbishop’s Palace and the City Hall around the same fountain.
We go down into the catacombs that served as a cemetery until the early 1800s, and see the library and the Sevillian-tiled cloisters.
A pause before the show: a coffee or a drink with an empanada or a dessert, sitting down and unhurried.
Thirteen fountains in the Parque de la Reserva, with the Magic Fountain and a water tunnel you can walk through. At nightfall the light and music show begins.
We drop you back at your hotel in Miraflores, San Isidro or Barranco.

We pick you up at 2:30. First the historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage site: Plaza San Martín, La Merced, the Plaza Mayor and the catacombs under the San Francisco monastery. A Lima snack is included along the way, coffee or a drink with an empanada or dessert. At dusk we move to the Magic Water Circuit and its fountain, music and light show. We drop you at your hotel around 9:00 p.m.
Yes. Children 0–3 join free, children 4–11 get 20% off the standard rate, and from 12 the adult rate applies.
Because the fountain show at Parque de la Reserva needs darkness. Leaving at 2:30 lets you walk the historic centre in daylight and reach the circuit just as the projections begin. A morning city tour leaves that part out.
