The experience

Why you’ll love this

Barranco has long drawn Lima’s poets, painters and musicians, and it still feels like a village by the sea. With a local guide, cross the Bridge of Sighs, walk the mural-lined Bajada de los Baños toward the Pacific and end in the main square, with a local coffee or ice cream along the way.

Tip: bring your camera. Barranco is Lima’s most photogenic district.

Highlights · Small group

  • Cross the legendary Bridge of Sighs
  • Walk the mural-lined Bajada de los Baños
  • Stroll Barranco’s elegant main square
  • Pause for a local coffee or ice cream

Step by step

Your route

  1. Hotel pickup

We pick you up at your hotel in Miraflores, San Isidro or Barranco and drive to the heart of Barranco.

  2. Alameda Roque Sáenz Peña

Begin on Barranco’s grand tree-lined promenade, flanked by the republican mansions that made the district Lima’s seaside retreat.

  3. Bridge of Sighs

Barranco’s most famous landmark, beside the old La Ermita church, has inspired poets and lovers for generations. Hear its legends and take in some of the district’s best views.

  4. Street murals

Barranco’s open-air gallery: walls painted by Peruvian and international artists, with new work appearing season after season.

  5. Bajada de los Baños

Walk down this old path to the sea, once used by fishermen, with views over the ravine and the Pacific.

  6. Main square

Barranco’s main square, framed by elegant historic houses and the Municipal Library. Along the way, pause for a local coffee or ice cream.

  7. Hotel drop-off

We drive you back to your hotel.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the private and the shared tour?

The route, the timings and the stops are the same. On the shared tour you walk alongside other guests and pay a fixed price per person. On the private tour the guide and the vehicle are just for your group, and the price per person drops as the group grows. Both options require a minimum of 2 travellers.

How much walking is involved?

It is a walk through Barranco’s streets, which are flat and close together, with frequent stops for photos and explanations. Pickup and drop-off at your hotel are by vehicle. If you prefer a gentler pace, book the private option: the timings adapt to your group.

Can children join?

Yes, and it is an easy walk for them: flat, short streets. Infants aged 0–3 travel free, children aged 4–11 pay a reduced rate, and from age 12 the adult rate applies. The child rate is shown next to the adult rate in each option's price table.
